Job Description:
L3Harris Interstate Electronics Corporation (IEC) Division is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Industrial Security Professional to join our dynamic team. The primary responsibilities of this position include assisting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in maintaining the overall company industrial and physical security programs. The Security Specialist serves as subject matter expert to L3Harris IEC FSO and supports all security matters including material safeguarding, personnel security processing, handling of controlled unclassified information, and classified information. The position is responsible for assisting the FSO in the development, implementation, and administration of various security procedures based on Department of War (DoW) and other U.S. Government agency security requirements. Also, assists with initiating security clearance investigations and investigations into security violations. Develops, communicates, upholds, and reinforces the mission, values, and culture of L3Harris IEC.
Essential Functions:
- In accordance with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) NISPOM, assist in reviewing, updating, and implementing various security related documents and policies for management approval. Experience with Security Databases to include DISS, SWFT, NBIS, SIMS, and SharePoint.
- Initiates, tracks, and manages security clearance actions, including reviewing SF-86 forms and conducting National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)/ Defense Information System for Security (DISS) data entries. Initiate, track, and update background investigation, clearance, eligibility, or trust-related actions. Processes security clearance reinvestigations, renewals, or periodic reviews
- Process personnel security actions related to onboarding, access, transfers, and separations. Prepare and process various security related documents to include SF-312 non-disclosure agreements and other security related documents.
- Process foreign travel requirements, including intake, review, coordination, tracking, and follow-up for required pre-travel and post-travel actions. Maintain SIMS employee database to include international travel/high risk travel.
- Process destruction certificates and internal/external transfers in SIMS. Perform destruction of classified material to include NSA destruction in coordination with program managers. Double-Wrap, label, and process classified packages for shipping. Process and document in SIMS all incoming classified packages.
- Support annual mission projects and coordinate, process, and validate visit authorization requests in DISS in support of classified meetings and visits.
- Perform courier briefings and prepare courier authorization letters in support of hand-carrying of classified material.
- Maintain facility profile in NISS to include compliance with transport requirements.
- Maintains up-to-date security files, including security clearances, training records, and visit certifications (VARs).
- Provides security briefings, debriefings, and security awareness training regarding policies and procedures to employees.
- Current travel requirements are approximately 10% off-site as needed to support assigned programs.
- Must currently hold a SECRET US security clearance with eligibility to upgrade to TOP SECRET.
Qualifications:
- Requires strong knowledge of the Industrial Security profession. Bachelor of Science Degree and minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience; OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; OR in lieu of a degree, there is a minimum of 5 years of prior related industrial security experience. This includes experience in managing various security related issues and coordinating as needed with appropriate Security Department, law enforcement and government agencies.
- 2+ years of experience in managing proprietary information, counterintelligence, insider threat, and basic cybersecurity issues.
- 2+ years of experience in processing industrial and government security requirements in accordance with the NISPOM.
- 2+ years of experience with SF-86 Questionnaire processing, SIMS, DISS, NBIS, and SWFT systems.
- 2+ years of experience with Visitor control, classified meeting set up, employee ID, and security clearance administration.
- 2+ years’ experience with creation and enforcement of company and corporate policies and procedures.
- A current SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance is required on day 1 for this position.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong Interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in working with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and associated incidents, alerts and alarm testing.
- Knowledgeable in processing and maintaining annual UL Certifications.
- ITAR knowledge and experience
- Microsoft SharePoint development experience.
- Professional certificates such as DCSA or NCMS Certifications are a plus.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $67,000.00 - $124,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
