Job Description:
Responsible for fabricating, building, handling, repairing and integrating complex parts, assemblies and machines normally used in engineering prototypes, one of a kind product or low volume manufacturing. Provides highly skilled labor, and manual machining capabilities, for extremely tight or critical tolerances. Hardware processed to engineering standards and is oftentimes considered fragile, high precision, highly sensitive and of high value. Interfaces with engineers in both prototyping and first flight build support. Designs and fabricates manufacturing assembly aids and tooling. Will work closely with development engineers to produce solutions to meet program schedules.
Essential Functions:
- Skilled Manual Machinist with High tolerance precision machining
- Experience programming a 3-axis Acu-rite control Milling machine
- Proficient in Lathe work, Prototrak and manual preferred
- Optical Shim Cutting and lapping
- Drill, Ream and Pin various size dowel pins into optical assemblies
- Ability to recommend tooling designs, fixturing, and rework solutions
- Perform jobs from start to finish following drawings
- Willingness to support other Manufacturing (non-Machine shop) needs as well.

Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- General Machine Shop Tools ie; Band Saw, Grinders, deburring tools etc.
- Optical Handling Experience
- Space/Aerospace experience desired
- Computer Literacy – Microsoft Office product preferred (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Massachusetts State is $29.32/hr- $54.32/hr.
