In this role, you will work closely with a crossfunctional team of manufacturing engineers, design engineers, and program managers to assemble, test, and deliver precision optical and electromechanical hardware for space applications. Because much of our work involves firsttime builds and evolving documentation, were looking for someone who excels in dynamic, developmentdriven environments where curiosity, adaptability, and technical rigor are essential.

This position is part of the L3Harris Imaging Division site in Wilmington, MA which has produced and continues to produce optical equipment for many customers both commercial and government, including NASA.  One of the many NASA space exploration programs that this business supported was NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft (https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/newhorizons/images/index.html).  Imaging Division Wilmington designed and built the telescope that flew on this spacecraft and took the first close pictures of Pluto and several of the outer planets’ moons.  There are many other interesting programs that this business has supported and continues supporting!

  • Operate test equipment, execute prescribed tests, gather performance data, and document results in the required formats.
  • Support the build of complex prototypes and firstarticle hardware, contributing to continual improvement of processes and documentation.
