Title:  Systems Development & Verification Engineering Intern (West Palm Beach, FL)

We are looking to fill and internship role at our West Palm Beach, FL site.  The intern will perform Systems Engineering assignments with a focus on requirements development, requirements management, and verification using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques. The position requires application of basic principles, theories, and concepts of Systems Engineering for aerospace system development.

Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.

60% - Assists with the development of requirements for rocket propulsion products. Assists in the derivation, allocation, and documentation of requirements using MBSE best practices.  Documents requirement changes and coordinates the communication of changes to Integrated Product Team members. Assists with defining and coordinating requirements verification plans with integrated product team members. Following established procedures, coordinates plans and compliance assessment and certification.

15% - Performs functional analysis and coordinates system trade studies. Documents system architecture decisions using SysML.  Assists in the selection of optimized concept baselines through benefit/cost trades in support of definition of system architecture and objectives.

15% - Assists in performing project risk and opportunity assessments and development of handling strategies.

10% - Communicates summer internship results in oral presentations or written communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a B.S. degree program in Aerospace or Systems Engineering (or similar major) OR enrolled in an advanced degree program in related major, and returning to school upon completion of the assignment.
