Essential Functions:

 

  • Perform structural analysis and design of ramjet and scramjet propulsion system components including combustors, inlets, nozzles, and airframe integration structures
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) for static, dynamic, thermal, and coupled thermo-mechanical loading conditions using industry-standard software tools
  • Evaluate structural integrity under extreme thermal environments, high-speed aerodynamic loads, and vibration/acoustic loading conditions
  • Generate structural analysis reports, design recommendations, and technical documentation to support design reviews and customer deliverables
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including aerodynamics, thermal, materials, and test engineers to develop integrated propulsion system solutions
  • Support hardware testing programs including test planning, instrumentation recommendations, data correlation, and model validation activities
  • Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and customer presentations to communicate analysis results and recommendations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Travel required approximately 10-15% for customer meetings, supplier visits, and test support activities

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior related experience performing structural analysis in aerospace, defense, or related industry. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience performing structural analysis in aerospace, defense, or related industry. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience performing structural analysis in aerospace, defense, or related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with finite element analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, or similar)
  • Experience with structural analysis of metallic and/or composite aerospace structures
  • Proficiency with CAD software and engineering analysis tools

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Active U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with focus on structures, solid mechanics, or thermal-structures
  • Direct experience with propulsion system structures, high-temperature structures, or hypersonic vehicle structural analysis
  • Experience with thermal analysis, heat transfer modeling, and coupled thermal-structural analysis in high-temperature environments
  • Familiarity with composite materials analysis, damage tolerance, fracture mechanics, or fatigue analysis methodologies
