Primary Responsibilities 

 

·        Analyze and interpret complex mechanical and electrical schematics, ensuring precise execution of assembly, integration and testing procedures

·        Execute the integration process by configuring software, calibrating hardware, and conducting comprehensive functional tests on sophisticated electro-optical imaging systems

·        Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components, including but not limited to motors, sensors and wire harness assemblies, to ensure optimal system performance and reliability

·        Investigate and resolve system-level faults by collaborating with senior technicians and engineers, contributing to continuous product development and process improvement

·        Execute environmental screening, operating thermal chambers and vibration tables, running tests scripts, and analyzing performance data to validate system integrity

·        Effectively manage multiple priorities, balancing integration, testing, and troubleshooting tasks to meet critical project timelines and production goals

·        Engage in cross-functional collaboration, work closely with Operation Engineers, production teams, and management to tackle complex technical challenges and drive innovative solutions

·        Ensuring meticulous documentation, maintaining detailed records of maintenance, test results, troubleshooting efforts and implemented solutions

·        Handle customer-owned equipment (as required), with precision and care, performing diagnostic testing, repairs, and upgrades while ensuring compliance with all quality standards

·        Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies in testing and integration processes, recommending enhancements, and implementing best practices to optimize system performance and workflow efficiency.

 

Required Capabilities

·        Technical Proficiency – Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and test procedures

·        System Integration Expertise – Experience in assembling, configuring, and testing complex electromechanical systems

·        Troubleshooting & Diagnostics – Skilled in identifying, analyzing and resolving electrical and mechanical issues

·        Software & Firmware Handling – Ability to load, configure and verify software on integrated hardware systems

·        Environmental & Performance Testing – Proficiency in operating large test equipment

·        Strong Collaboration & Communication – Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with engineers, production teams and management.

·        Continuous Improvement & Safety Mindset – Abilities to think critically, identify inefficiencies in processes, suggest improvements and be open minded to change.

Desired Education and Experiences 

 

·        3 - 5 years’ experience in the Electronics and Mechanical field desired

·        Community College diploma in Electronics/Mechanical Technology or equivalent

·        Experience with Lean Manufacturing an asset

·        Previous experience working in ISO9000, AS9100 environment
