Specialist, Inventory Analyst

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Identify inventory avoidance/reduction opportunities
  • Work with all departments to drive inventory reduction opportunities
  • Stratify inventory to assist in inventory metric reporting, management and control
  • Develop key metrics for tracking inventory values and trends
  • Measure specific categories of inventory against key metrics
  • Estimate ideal inventory levels by family based on production plan
  • Report on work order cycle times and implement improvements
  • Hands on management of obsolete inventory via sales, rework, or scrap
  • Assist in forecasting appropriate levels of stock
  • Manage/reduce excess to MRP inventory
  • Provide action message metrics and meet with buyers to review MRP action messages
  • Measure future inventory purchase against MRP action messages and work with the buyers to correct variances
  • Assist on a daily basis in evaluating changes in demand and configurations as they relate to overall inventory levels, safety stock, and stranded inventory
  • Other duties as required
  • Support Business Case approval and implementation for long lead material and last time buys.

 

 

Required Capabilities 

  • Knowledge of inventory, supply chain, and production control processes
  • Strong analytical and query skills to investigate, comprehend and drive resolution of all aspects of material and supply chain issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and grow within a fast paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and coordinate activities inter-company and amongst multiple departments
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office tools with an emphasis on Word & Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Team player attitude with a high sense of urgency to respond to time-sensitive issues
  • Action oriented/results driven

 

 

Desired Education and Experiences 

  • Five (5) years of experience in parts planning, forecasting or production control environment
  • CPIM Certification or equivalent
  • University Degree/College Diploma in Business Operations, Supply Chain or related field an asset
  • Experience in aerospace/military product support an asset
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
  • Knowledge of ISO9000/AS9100 standards a plus
