About the Role:

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Operations to lead our overall manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for strategizing techniques to maximize product quality, productivity, and efficiency, ensuring the achievement of business-critical results. The role includes oversight of multiple sites, driving process improvements, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products meeting customer and company standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Operations function across the WESCAM Division.
  • Oversee and inspire site operations, driving process improvements and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement manufacturing plans.
  • Optimize resources while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Lead department managers, manage budgets, and foster employee development.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative technologies to enhance operations.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality products meeting customer and company standards.
  • Ensure compliance to AS9100D requirements and maintain quality control systems to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a safe working environment.
  • Serve as Liaison between department management, subordinates and executives to communicate decisions, policies and business goals.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), providing actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the senior executive team on operational performance and strategic initiatives.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of senior management experience with a focus on operational, financial, and strategic accountabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead, engage, and inspire high-performing operations teams.
  • Strong track record in delivering operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing practices and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated success in leading organizational growth, establishing strategies, and driving scalable process improvements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet development goals, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and hire top talent.
  • Strong business acumen with cross-functional leadership experience aligned with operational goals and objectives.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing team performance measures and metrics.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adept at building and maintaining effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Superior strategic, organizational, analytical, and abstract reasoning skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in creating and delivering executive-level reports and briefings.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven with a hands-on approach to issue resolution.
  • Ability to create and deliver executive level reports and briefings
  • Detail and results oriented operating style and willingness to have a “hands on” approach to issue resolution.

 

 

Desired Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Logistics.
