Job Description:

The Lead, Business Development position will develop new business and help retain existing business in the USAF market.  Position will interface with USAF personnel at Warner Robins and other USAF sites. 

  • Identify new business opportunities in USAF aviation market
  • Support market assessments and business development initiatives.  Markets include both USAF and other aviation markets
  • Develop and maintain understand competitors’ strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop strategies to respond to proposal requirements included in customer RFPs
  • Develop, communicate and track proposal plans including proposal schedules, color team reviews, and internal gate schedules
  • Coordinate with consultants for proposal and strategy development

Essential Functions:

  • Position requires residence in the Warner Robins area
  • Understanding of USAF aviation platforms, missions, and objectives.
  • Established relationships with key USAF personnel and/or processes.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communications skills. 
  • Maintains transparent, performance-based communications with all levels of leadership.
  • Develop and execute high level project plans.
  • Lead teams or groups in a matrix organization
  • Manage and coordinate with project teams within the business area.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to travel for proposal and/or business needs
  • Work extended hours when required
  • Ability to effectively interface with diverse cultures
  • Proficient in MS Office and Teams
  • Ability to present to brief senior site leaders

 

Qualifications:

  • Retired from USAF or civilian working DoD programs with Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 9 years of prior related experience
  • Experience in aviation acquisition in the aerospace and/or defense industry
  • Experience working with of developing RFPs, proposals or Statement of Work development
  • Experience in proposal or RFP development processes

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of technical approaches involved in aircraft modification programs.
  • Knowledgeable of subsystems and components used for aircraft modifications.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance requirements
