Job Description:
The Engineering Operations Analyst provides business analytics and reporting to the Engineering department. Identifies and develops department metrics by working with users and stakeholders to understand data visualization and reporting requirements. Translates business results into meaningful metrics and recommendations aimed at improving performance, through the e3 Continuous Improvement program. Analyzes business processes and problems to formulate and develop recommendations to meet customer and/or internal project requirements.
- Lead process improvement initiatives for the MMG Engineering department
- Coordinate all e3 Continuous Improvement projects for the Engineering department and serve as liaison to e3 leaders.
- Coordinate Engineering department metrics for Internal Research and Development (IRAD), bids and proposals, manpower, engineering performance, etc.
- Manage department metrics using Power BI dashboards.
- Lead special projects and initiatives for the Engineering department.
- Oversee and coordinate department activities such as training requirements, policies / procedures, capital and expense planning, recruiting.
- Champion and promote best practices for the Engineering department (intra-organization collaboration, value engineering, e3, etc.)
- Lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities for Engineering department
- Manage manpower forecasting using the Labor Tracking System (LTS) for the department for the SIOP process.
- Coordinate status reviews to multiple levels of leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (engineering or business) and minimum six (6) years of prior relevant experience, OR
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of four (4) years of prior related experience. MBA preferred.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience collaborating and coordinating with different departments (e.g. Engineering, Scheduling, Program Management)
- Excellent written, oral, and team communication skills.
- Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment.
- Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level which requires U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
- Experience with information systems / database visualization (e.g. SQL, Power BI, and/or Tableau).
