Job Description:

The Sr. Specialist, Configuration Management position is responsible for providing configuration and data management support to their assigned program(s). This position will plan, manage, and report on the documentation created to fulfill product configuration and will ensure the consistency, integrity, and accuracy of system documentation, drawings, design artifacts, baselines, and related configuration information throughout the product lifecycle.

Essential Functions:

  • Leverage expertise to provide high-level support and guidance to all departments supporting the program, including Program Management, Engineering, Contracts, Subcontracts, Quality, and other functions, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements, internal standards, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities relative to identification, control, and accounting for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements and Configuration Management Standards EIA 649 and MIL-HDBK-61A.
  • Support configuration management data input, management and task tracking. Schedules and provides administrative assistance with change board meetings.
  • Interpret, explain and gain cooperation on policies, procedures and practices.
  • Experience and professional level skills utilizing PLM Document and Data management applications.
  • Coordinating Engineering changes ensuring approval requirements are met and implementation is managed.
  • Creating Management Plans to ensure the integrity of customer requirements.
  • Support the organization, review, and authorization of new and revised drawings and documentation. 
  • Guarantee that all program documentation complies with internal standards, formatting requirements, and contractual obligations, and ensures protection of intellectual property. 
  • Creating Configuration Status Accounting reports for the program.
  • Support and participate in functional and physical configuration audits, ensuring thorough preparation and adherence to audit requirements, if contractually required. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, offering advanced guidance and advice on CM methods, tools, and procedures to project teams. 
  • Act as a key liaison between management and other functional groups to address and resolve complex configuration management issues.
  • Ensure creation of and support the Configuration Change Board (CCB) process, including the review, modification, and approval of documents, drawings, and associated records. Ensure clarity, compliance, and completeness in all change-related documentation.
  • Experience supporting proposals and proposal cost estimates for Configuration and Data Management.
  • Experience with Defense Hardware CM management. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of MILITARY, DOD and Industry CMDM standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of prior technical knowledge and experience in configuration and data management and/or related engineering discipline experience.
  • Graduate Degree with four (4) years of prior technical knowledge and experience in configuration and data management and/or related engineering discipline experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior technical knowledge and experience in configuration and data management and/or related engineering discipline experience.
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance at the time of hire.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM.
