Job Description:
- The Quality Specialist is responsible for the identification and documentation of quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems. Facilitates the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products. Leads the preparation and execution of internal audits within established manufacturing and production controls to ensure compliance with internal and external specifications and standards. Liaises with auditing groups and inspectors to develop formal written reports, and recommend corrective actions. Identifies trends in discrepancies and collaborates with process owners on the refinement and optimization of business processes. Oversees testing department activities and work of inspectors. Reviews, approves, and controls work order flow tags. Develops inspection techniques, tools, and supplemental inspection instructions in support of standards, methods and procedures. Participates in supplier corrective and preventative actions, including: customer escapes, process nonconformities, supplier corrective actions, customer and change control, and material review board meetings.
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance, which requires US Citizenship
- Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to specified quality standards and procedures.
- Perform real-time and scheduled and unscheduledd maintenance inspections.
- Utilize precision measurement tools and equipment to verify compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of all inspections, findings, and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality procedures and inspection results in compliance with industry regulations and company protocols.
- Assist in the preparation and review of quality assurance reports, manuals, and checklists.
- Monitor compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to resolve quality issues and promote best practices.
- Intermediate level of professionalism with practical knowledge of inspection protocols, practices.
- Self starter, works well with minimal oversight to set objectives for his or her own job area.
- Communicates well with fellow employees and management as well as outside customer representatives to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. Identifies and addresses changes and improvements within their own job area.
- Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.
- Must be able to travel within and outside of the United States, Work all shifts including weekends and overtime as required.
- Conducts maintenance inspections to ensure they conform to the highest quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Experience Audits and inspections within the aerospace industry.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite
- Requires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- FAA Airframe and/or PowerPlant (A&P) license
- Aircraft inspection experience
- Flightline Gulfstream G550 Experience
- C-130, P-8, AT-802, aircraft experience a plus
