Job Description:

Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management and/or project/systems engineering. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to travel, as required, up to ~25% or more based on business needs.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required, to ensure program success.

 

Program Leadership: Serve as the deputy to the Program Manager, offering strategic direction and robust leadership to IPTs to align with overarching program goals.

Milestone Management: Establish and monitor execution milestones to adhere to master schedules and payment timelines.

 

Oversight and Coordination: Maintain and monitor oversight of critical program elements, including material & supply chain, subcontracts, engineering, and operations, to ensure seamless integration, test, and delivery.

 

Performance Management: Utilize a comprehensive understanding of EVMS to meet or exceed financial, schedule, and technical performance indicators.

 

Stakeholder Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for the end-user and executive leadership, facilitating transparent communication and achieving contract milestones.

 

Risk Assessment: Identify challenges, opportunities, and risks across the program, developing strategies to address them effectively.

 

  • Provide oversight and manage the modification, integration, and test activities; to include schedules, internal/external meetings, customer presentations, and departmental budgets.
  • Direct the work of functional employees in the execution of the assigned projects while establishing and monitoring performance to schedules, plans, and milestones.
  • Respond to the customer's needs and be able to respond to quick reaction needs. As required, support request/coordination outside of normal business hours.
  • Brief customer, end-user, and upper management on all facets of the assigned projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.  In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels including senior/executive leadership.
  • Active DoD Security Clearance is required, Top Secret/SCI preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in Commercial, Department of Defense, and/or Military Aviation/Aerospace products development and production.
  • Demonstrated experience managing aircraft integration efforts.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and management personnel onsite and offsite.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an environment that is fast-paced, demanding, with a focus on problem resolution and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of manpower planning, milestone scheduling, PM tools, and related financial management.
  • Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management System.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge in SAP or Solumina
