Job Description:

The inventory Management Support D expert will use strong communication skills for effective interface with onsite government customer. Able to work independently to achieve departmental objectives as outlined in the government Logistics Support Plan. Must operate well in team environment using solid communication and problem solving skills.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for planning, controlling and managing activities related to inventory control, shipping/receiving, storage of material.
• Ensures materials are packaged according to specifications and shipped in a timely manner as per schedules.
• Responsible for coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support shipments.
• May complete analysis on company/customer needs, transportation methods, and audit carrier costs and performance to select most efficient transportation options.
• Interprets laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and preparation of equipment for Hazardous Goods Shipping.
• BSI, FEDLOG, SAP, FEDEX Ship Manager, Microsoft Office fluent.
• Must be able to work autonomously.
• Able to mentor lower-level peers and provide guidance on tasks.
• Uses knowledge and experience to resolve issues.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience managing government materials.
• Current IATA/DOT Hazardous Material certification.
• SECRET Clearance required.
• Must be able to travel on short notice.
• Must be able to work extended hours and on call.
• Current DV8R certification.
