Job Description:
We are seeking a licensed Master Electrician to join our Facilities team. This role is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of facility electrical systems and supporting infrastructure. The position supports day-to-day operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, capital projects, and emergency response activities across the site.
The Master Electrician serves as the technical authority for electrical systems within Facilities and ensures all work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Licensing and Compliance
- Hold and maintain a current, valid, state-recognized Master Electrician license.
- Maintain all required continuing education and license renewals.
- Authorized to pull permits and interface with inspectors, as required.

- State and local electrical codes

- Company safety, environmental, and operational standards
Electrical Systems and Maintenance
- Provide certified electrical services in support of all Facilities operations.
- Perform installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of electrical systems and equipment, including:
- Medium- and low-voltage distribution systems
- Switchgear, transformers, panels, breakers, and motor control centers
- Interior, exterior, and emergency lighting systems
- UPS systems, generators, and backup power systems
- HVAC electrical components and controls
- Mission-critical and specialized equipment
- Execute preventive, corrective, and general maintenance activities, including:
- Equipment condition readings and operational adjustments
- Lighting and ballast replacement
- Diagnose system failures and develop corrective action plans.
Technical and Project Support
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, specifications, charts, and equipment manuals.
- Review electrical designs, drawings, and vendor submittals.
- Support capital projects, renovations, outages, shutdowns, and facility upgrades.
- Coordinate maintenance and project activities prior to execution.
- Operate portable power tools, hand tools, and electrical/mechanical test equipment.
Coordination and Oversight
- Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, utilities, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance, oversight, and mentoring to apprentices or journeyman electricians.
- Order materials and manage electrical work scopes as needed.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and safety reviews.
Safety and Documentation
- Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and PPE requirements.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions or compliance risks.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and as-built records.
- Ensure electrical systems are left in a safe, fully operational condition after work is completed.
- Communicate identified deficiencies with recommended corrective actions.
- Zero tolerance for safety violations.
Work Conditions
- Work may be required during normal business hours, after hours, weekends, or emergency callouts.
- Availability for urgent or mission-critical electrical issues is required.
- No routine travel is required.
- No security clearance required
Qualifications:
- Requires highly developed job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Current state-recognized Master Electrician license.
- Demonstrated experience with commercial and/or industrial electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings.
- Ability to analyze reports and maintenance records.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Ability to meet all site access, background, and safety training requirements.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting manufacturing, mission-critical, or regulated facilities.
- Experience coordinating and overseeing contractors and vendors.
- Familiarity with facility infrastructure systems beyond electrical (HVAC, controls, basic plumbing).
- Strong communication skills and ability to interface with cross-functional teams.
- Work outside the electrical scope requires explicit authorization.
