Job Description: 

The Specialist, Project Engineering position is responsible for full lifecycle Project Engineering support of a DoD sensor integration program, focusing on SW development as part of a larger integrated sensor system delivery.  This role is responsible for leading a multi-functional project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of software engineering development practices, project engineering and/or project management with an emphasis on Agile Scrum best practices.
  • Uses project management practices and is responsible for overall success of the project. 
  • Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. 
  • Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions project-level risks. 
  • Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product. 
  • Technical management and coordination of engineering resources across multiple geographical locations. 
  • Technical management and coordination of lab equipment and facilities 
  • Technical management and coordination of development, review, and submittal of contract deliverables 
  • Interfaces effectively with people at all levels and from diverse technical backgrounds. 
  • Serves as technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, physics, or computer science and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • 2 years experience leading software teams in an Agile environment. 
  • Must be a US Citizen. 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active Department of Defense security clearance. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Project. 
  • Experience and/or knowledge with CAMEO Enterprise Architect and JIRA. 
  • Experience leading multi-functional integrated product teams across multiple geographical locations. 
  • Experience and knowledge in the full life cycle of hardware/software products from concept to production including system architecture, design implementation, integration, and verification/validation. 
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager in an Earned Value Management System (EVMS). 
  • Scrum Master certification or Scaled Agile Framework Leadership certification.
