Job Description:
L3Harris Aeromet has an opportunity for an experienced Image Processing Engineer to apply, enhance and develop image processing and threat detection techniques for an airborne infrared program. We are seeking an experienced engineer with a passion for working with digital data and analyzing the underlying phenomena. The successful candidate will work to develop best-in-class capabilities for detection, tracking, recognition, and image enhancement capabilities in support of the national defense.
Essential Functions:

· Work within a dynamic team to execute the algorithm development.
· Support the technical direction/plan for image processing and algorithm development in support of the program objectives.
· Code development with Python (Jupyter Notebooks, NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, Matplotlib) or MATLAB (Image or Signal Processing Toolboxes).
· Produce new modular functionality suitable for a real-time image processing system.
· Be hard working, technically competent, possess pride in ownership and a good work ethic.
· Have a passion for working with digital data and analyzing the underlying phenomena.
· Set the highest ethical standards for self and others.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics and 4 years related experience, or Graduate Degree with related focus and 2 years related experience.
· Experience with Object Detection and Tracking.
· A strong emphasis on image and signal processing techniques as well as experience applying these to digital data.
· Python, MATLAB or other scripting language experience.
· Background in engineering concepts and theory and experience applying these to the development of new concepts and technical practices.
· Applicant must have a willingness to relocate to the Tulsa, OK area.
· Applicant must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
· Degree with digital signal processing focus.
· Experience with C++, CUDA (or equivalent) and real-time programming.
· Familiarity with atmosphere modeling and analysis.
· Familiarity with ballistic missile target characteristics and trajectory analysis.
· Familiarity with Agile or Scaled Agile development processes.
· Strong Organizational and Communication skills.
