Job Description:
L3Harris Aeromet in Tulsa, OK is seeking a skilled and motivated individual for the role of Mission Systems Engineer. As a core member of the Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting the ALIAS program from initial mission systems testing through, early deployments and into operations and sustainment. Initial work will be based out of Tulsa. The program plans to relocate to Las Vegas in the 2028 time frame.
Essential Functions:
- Mission Aircrew Support / Aircraft Operations

- Support mission planning, preparation, execution, and data collection activities
- Serve in one or more aircrew roles (such as Sensor Operator, Test Conductor, or Technician) depending on training and mission requirements
- Perform sensor calibration, system configuration, tracking and control, and real‑time monitoring of mission systems
- Mission Essential Operations

- Coordinate daily operational status with the mission team
- Use mission planning tools to develop and refine mission plans
- Conduct all required pre‑flight and post‑flight operational checkouts, calibrations, and documentation
- Maintain operational availability of mission systems hardware and software
- Provide ground support, download and archive mission data, process collected products, and deliver quick‑look analysis within 48 hours
- Prepare and present mission briefings covering instrumentation, aircraft performance, and data products

- Sustainment Site Support

- Support unit‑level Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities
- Apply in-depth knowledge of electro-optical principles and image sciences to support system development and operational performance.
- Assist with on site engineering tasks, troubleshooting, and quick-turn technical resolutions involving mission systems, sensors, and software
- Uphold all operational, security, and site procedures in accordance with system security plans and ALIAS requirements
- Contribute to coordination across other agencies, test ranges, support contractors, and other mission partners

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Willingness to relocate to the primary ALIAS operating local as required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain and FAA Class 2 Medical Certification
Preferred Skills:
- Willingness to serve in multiple mission roles and undergo cross‑training
- Comfortable working in demanding operational environments with minimum‑manned teams
- Ability to follow standard procedures and maintain high operational discipline
- Technical aptitude and ability to learn complex mission systems
- Familiarity with aircraft operations, sensor systems, or test environments.
- Ability to develop and perform structured system checkouts, operational procedures, and real‑time monitoring
- Kknowledge of electro-optical principles and image sciences.
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting infrared imagery and data.
- Security process expertise.
- Technical understanding of electronic components / computer hardware concepts.
- Technical understanding of troubleshooting complex failure modes which include the interactions between software and hardware.
- Ability to interpret and work in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment to understand the system design and contribute to system modeling in Cameo.
- Prior military air-crew experience will be considered beneficial.
