Job Description:

 

Entry-level professional with broad theoretical job knowledge in Electrical Engineering who is ready to learn how to design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver Naval power systems such as Switchboards, Load Centers, Power Panels, and Control Systems for Naval electrical distribution equipment, which includes specification and selection of various items such as: power supplies, circuit breakers, computers, controllers, switches, fuses, relays, indicators, sensors, connectors, terminals, terminal boards, wiring, and/or specifically designed PCB assemblies for sensing, power conversion, etc.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • ·       Determine design approaches and parameters
  • ·       Perform system analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
  • ·       Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
  • ·       Write technical reports
  • ·       Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
  • ·       Perform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineers
  • ·       Review and understand customer provided electrical equipment technical specifications
  • ·       Review and understand military specifications
  • ·       Develop functional electrical designs in accordance with all applicable specifications
  • ·       Prepare parts lists for release to Supply Chain
  • ·       Prepare schematics and wiring diagrams

Qualifications: 

·       Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a preference toward Power Engineering, or Electrical & Computer Engineering or related field

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

·       Experience utilizing various pieces of test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital data acquisition systems, digital multi-meters, power supplies, load banks, three-phase power analyzers, insulation resistance testers, etc.

·       Knowledge and/or experience with Networking, Serial Communications, Power Distribution, Power Conversion, Controls, and Aerospace & Defense industry

·       Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills

·       Knowledge of LabVIEW, SolidWorks, AutoCAD

·       Knowledge of and/or understanding of circuit analysis and operational concepts

·       Familiarity with various computing environments (LINUX/Windows)

·       Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
