Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager responsible for developing a vision, strategy, and tactics to drive growth and operational excellence across the Aeromet business. This role oversees the Profit and Loss (P&L) of the business unit, ensuring financial objectives are met while achieving high customer satisfaction, maximizing revenue and profitability, and creating a collaborative and exciting work environment. The GM will provide leadership to business development activities, support major bids and proposals, and build strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
- Develop a vision, strategy and associated tactics for Aeromet business that drives growth and operational excellence.
- Lead the current business portfolio to achieve operational excellence, high customer satisfaction, maximization of revenue and profitability, high staff retention and continued growth.
- Provide leadership to Business Development activities, including strategic business planning, new business forecasting and strategic capture.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership, peers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Conduct reviews and coordinate approvals of major bids and proposals to ensure success through bid submission to program execution.
- Establish, grow and maintain close customer relationships, participate in the marketing and sales process, and actively promote the organization’s capabilities and strengths; ensure that customer perspective is a driving force behind business decisions and activities.
- Translating strategic priorities into operational reality by aligning the business, setting clear objectives and driving the business cadence.
- Driving high standards for individual, team, and organizational accomplishment through teamwork, empowerment and accountability; tenaciously work to meet or exceed challenging goals and foster continuous improvement.
- Create a strong culture of collaboration, trust and excitement to support employees and business growth
- Manage team of Program Directors, Senior Managers and Program Management Office employees.
- Manage performance and execution of the business
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering.
- 15 years of defense industry experience, primarily in senior management roles, leading and motivating cross functional teams. Proven success in program performance, on contract growth, cost management, quality, and delivery.
- Secret security clearance or higher
- 7+ years of experience collaborating with business development, program management, engineering, and operations in a government contracting environment.
- 7 years of experience in customer relationship management, understanding customer needs, and implementing systems to ensure satisfaction.
- 7 years of experience growing into new markets
- 7 years of experience leading teams with a focus on performance, cost management, and profitability. Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed goals and manage programs to schedule and budget.
- 7 years of experience driving organizational growth, establishing strategies, and implementing scalable process improvements.
- 7 years of experience working with international customers and partners
- 7 years of experience developing and applying team performance metrics.
- 7 years of experience leading in a functional matrix organization.
- 7 years of experience in capture Management and Proposal Management
Preferred Additional Skills:
- MBA Degree
- US Secret Security Clearance (US Top Secret/SCI preferred)
- Expertise in EO/IR market and supporting technology
- Good understanding of government owned contractor operated (GOCO) programs
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and grow high-performing teams.
- Driven individual, that is relentless in driving business outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
