Job Description:

L3Harris Aeromet has an opportunity for an Image Processing Engineer working to develop, apply, and analyze image and signal processing techniques for threat detection and tracking programs. We are seeking an engineer with a passion for working with digital data and analyzing the underlying phenomena. The successful candidate will join a team developing best-in-class capabilities for various airborne collection platforms in support of the national defense.

Essential Functions:

Work within a dynamic team to execute algorithm development.
Perform sensor, target, and atmospheric modeling.
Code development with Python (Jupyter Notebooks, NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, Matplotlib) or MATLAB (Image or Signal Processing Toolboxes).
Be hard working, technically competent, possess pride in ownership and a good work ethic.
Have a passion for working with digital data and analyzing the underlying phenomena.
Be dynamic and adaptable to change.
Set the highest ethical standards for self and others.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred) or Physics or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
Python, MATLAB or other scripting language experience.
Background in engineering concepts and theory and experience applying these to the development of new concepts and technical practices.
Applicant must have a willingness to relocate to the Tulsa, OK area.
Applicant must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Familiarity with atmosphere modeling and analysis.
Object detection and tracking experience.
Experience using quantitative performance metrics to evaluate algorithm performance.
Strong Organizational and Communication skills.
Software development experience.
C, C++, and/or CUDA experience.
