Job Description:

An AI Data Engineer builds data solutions with databases, object storage platforms, and scripting tools to support development of AIML models and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) products. The AI Data Engineer leads the design and implementation of data solutions with a supporting team of multidisciplinary software engineers.  

Essential Functions:

• Leading the design and implementation of data engineering solutions
• Experience building ETL solutions for both structured and unstructured data
• Communicating technical designs their justifications to technical and non-technical audiences
• Executing work within a team using the Scrum or Kanban agile development framework
• Quickly learning new technologies and reverse engineering open-source tools to develop data engineering solutions

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience architecting and implementing data engineering solutions at an enterprise scale
• Demonstrated experience with Python, SQL, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL (or other similar systems)
• Demonstrated experience building data engineering solutions for large amounts of videos and images using AWS S3 storage or a similar open-source alternative such as MinIO, etc.
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, and the ability to maintain the stated clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience building distributed data engineering solutions using Kubernetes
• Experience developing data solutions for AIML projects integrating with AIML pipeline tools such as Kubeflow, MLFlow, Airflow, and Data Version Control
• Experience integrating open-source tools in an enterprise tool pipeline
• Active Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
