Job Description:

The Production Controller (PC) will be technically qualified as a subject matter expert (SME) in the field of aircraft maintenance. Manage all maintenance support functions of assigned aircraft within their geographic region (domestic and foreign) to ensure continued airworthiness of aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration requirements. The PC must be proficient in using computerized database management systems in addition to MS Office. The Production Controller is under general supervision of the Quality Manager.


Essential Functions:

  • Monitors and tracks all scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, airframe/avionics modifications, special inspections, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), and Military Type Certificate (MTC) requirements, and other customer directed maintenance on assigned aircraft.
  • Processes production planning reports and forecasts scheduled maintenance events for short-term, mid-term and long-term planning.
  • Provides maintenance and logistical support functions necessary to expedite corrective actions in order to reduce scheduling delays to meet program schedules.
  • Perform flight debriefs, and review aircraft logbook entries post flight and upon completion of work to ensure conformity to contract requirements.
  • Provides the necessary support to off-site mechanics to ensure documents, parts and supplies are expeditiously and accurately processed by the established procedures.
  • Researches OEM, STC, and MTC technical data and provides technical support to sub-contractors regarding maintenance requirements.
  • Prepares work order packages for maintenance activities, coordinates necessary maintenance requirements from appropriate support shops ensuring adequate materials, tools and equipment are available.
  • Able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours and travel as required to support mission requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Administration Regulations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant certification (A&P license) or 4 years experience as an aircraft level avionics technician.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Possess a positive attitude, be a self-starter, work well with others.
  • Must have in-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives.
  • Familiar with Precision Asset Reporting System (PARS)


Physical Requirements:

The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
