Job Description:
The Site Lead for the Sky Raider II program will oversee and manage all personnel and operations at Davis-Monthan AFB. Serving as the primary point of contact and main program representative on site for all internal and external operational aspects, this role ensures the OA-1K Sky Raider II aircraft maintenance operations, site personnel, and mission support activities meet program requirements. The Site Lead reports to the Program Manager, has direct oversight of the Maintenance Manager, and is responsible for overall site leadership, coordination with customers and stakeholders, and ensuring all aircraft are maintained in good mechanical condition and safe for flight, adhering to applicable FAA and L3 Harris Sky Raider II maintenance requirements and standards.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Management and leadership knowledge in aircraft maintenance operations with comprehensive knowledge within aviation maintenance discipline.
- Serve as the primary on-site leader and main POC for the Sky Raider II program at Davis-Monthan AFB for all internal and external operational aspects.
- Report to the Program Manager on site operations, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.
- Provide direct oversight and leadership to the Maintenance Manager and all site personnel.
- Lead and direct site operations including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and servicing of OA-1K aircraft and equipment.
- Serve as the primary interface with customers, stakeholders, and L3 Harris leadership for all site-related matters.
- Coordinate site operations, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
- Ensure aircraft airworthiness, safety, and mission readiness across all maintenance operations.
- Schedule maintenance and inspections to maximize efficiencies and aircraft availability for program flight schedule.
- Ensure site personnel meet and maintain assigned training and certification requirements (C3 ISR-M-008 TCM).
- Coordinate OJT training for newly assigned personnel as required.
- Determine corrective actions for deficiencies affecting aircraft airworthiness.
- Ensure compliance with scheduled and unscheduled inspections in accordance with OEM requirements and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
- Oversee and review aircraft maintenance records and historical document entries.
- Monitor and review deficiency reports for adverse trends and implement corrective measures.
- Monitor in-progress and follow-up inspections during and upon completion of maintenance actions.
- Ensure compliance with established L3 Harris Corporate policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure 8210.1D compliance for Ground Operating Procedures (C3ISR OA-1K GOP ISR-M-003).
- Conduct briefings with senior leaders, customers, and end-users on site operations and program status.
- Coordinate with project management, planning teams, and line management on operational requirements.
- Assist personnel in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components, determining their reparability and serviceability.
- Actively participate in and promote the Safety Program across the site.
- Discuss controversial discrepancies with aircrews to ensure adequate troubleshooting information and flight data.
- Recommend procedure changes to improve the maintainability of aircraft and required inspections.
- Ensure strict compliance with all required Communications Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures.
- Operate authorized vehicles, both special purpose and regular.
- CONUS and OCONUS deployments may be required.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport for OCONUS travel, as needed.
- Willingness and ability to work dayshift, nightshift, and weekend duty and travel as part of maintenance recovery team as required.
- Perform other related duties as required to support contract and mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in management and supervision of aircraft maintenance organizations and site-level operations.
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated leadership experience managing experienced professionals and/or lower-level supervisors.
- Must meet all physical requirements associated with deployment OCONUS and CRC.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Secret security clearance.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) is preferred.
- Work experience on Air Tractor 802 / P&WC PT6 associated engines highly desired.
- Previous experience as a site lead or facility manager for aircraft maintenance operations.
- Experience with military contract operations and customer interface.
- Valid Passport.
