Summary:

Performs maintenance, inspection, and repair of avionics, electrical, and electro-environmental systems on EA-37B aircraft. Supports flight operations, ensures system functionality, and assists with ground support equipment. Reports to the Lead Avionics Technician.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Avionics Maintenance & Repair

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace avionics systems and components, including aircraft wiring and harnesses.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance following OEM procedures.
  • Conduct operational checks during pre-flight and post-flight inspections.
  • Maintain systems such as infrared, airborne video, laser, night vision, and aircraft battery.
  • Support repair and maintenance of Mission Support ISR equipment as required.

 

Flight & Ground Support

  • Support aircraft launch, recovery, and servicing activities.
  • Operate and maintain ground support equipment and flight line vehicles.
  • Assist with flight line Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks and safety protocols.

 

Technical Compliance & Documentation

  • Use technical manuals and maintenance systems to document and track maintenance actions.
  • Prepare and update maintenance records, deficiency reports, and historical documentation.
  • Research, requisition, and manage aircraft parts and components.

 

Tool & Equipment Management

  • Perform tool inspections and ensure accountability of hand and special tools.
  • Maintain powered and non-powered equipment in serviceable condition.
  • Monitor bench stock and support equipment inventories.

 

Safety & Training

  • Comply with all safety, environmental, COMSEC, and HAZMAT regulations.
  • Participate in safety and FOD prevention programs.
  • Assist in training new technicians and support on-the-job learning.
  • Promote a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with hands-on avionics maintenance.
  • Current FAA A&P Certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience in repair and maintenance of radar, communications, nav-aids, lighting and instrumentation.
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts as assigned and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team if required. 
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally is required.
  • Ability to work in the established work/living environment, work shift schedules assigned 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to support mission requirements when traveling internationally.
  • Demonstrated experience using common hand and special tools/testers as required for aircraft maintenance. 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of aircraft safety directives. 
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand English. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge using aircraft technical publications-read, interpret, follow and basic comprehension of schematic diagrams, drawings, and charts.
  • Demonstrated experience using (input and extract data) maintenance database technology.
  • Demonstrated experience performing in-flight FCF checks.

 

Licensing, Certification Requirements:

  • Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate Desired
  • Current valid State Driver’s License with ability to obtain and maintain a government flight line driver's license.
  • Current valid US Passport with no travel restrictions
  • Must be able to complete and pass the required physical exam and CRC course prior to international deployments.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Completion of a military or civilian aviation avionics technical school or possess an FCC License with endorsements is preferred.
  • Recent work experience on Gulfstream, Global Jet, or business jet avionics maintenance experience is preferred and desired.
  • Experience on maintaining Honeywell Primus systems preferred.
