Summary:
Responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on EA-37B aircraft, supporting daily operations and aircrew missions. Reports to the Shift Lead Aircraft Mechanic.
Key Responsibilities:
Aircraft Maintenance & Repair
- Perform maintenance on all aircraft systems, including turbofan engines, flight controls, landing gear, hydraulics, avionics, and airframes.
- Conduct inspections (daily, turnaround, corrosion) and structural/component repairs following OEM procedures.
- Troubleshoot and repair systems using technical manuals and data.
- Calibrate and align aircraft components; conduct functional checks on major systems.
Operational Support
- Launch and recover aircraft, including tie-downs and cover/plug installation/removal.
- Service aircraft with fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, oxygen, nitrogen, and grease.
- Discuss discrepancies with aircrews for accurate diagnostics.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and logs.
- Monitor deficiency reports and track adverse trends.
- Initiate and process material deficiency and tool condition reports.
- Ensure COMSEC, safety, environmental, and HAZMAT procedures are followed.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Research, order, and receive aircraft parts; assess reparability of components.
- Maintain hand tools, special equipment, and support vehicles in serviceable condition.
- Conduct tool inventories and inspections; enforce tool control protocols.
Collaboration & Training
- Support other technicians and assist with new personnel training.
- Participate in safety and FOD prevention programs, including flight line walks.
Other Duties
- Perform aircraft corrosion control (wash, wipe down, polish, vacuum).
- Operate authorized vehicles and ground support equipment.
- Fulfill additional duties as required to support mission readiness.
Required Qualifications:
- Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Demonstrated experience as aircraft mechanic.
- Current FAA A&P certificate required
- Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts as assigned and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team if required.
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally is required.
- Ability to work in the established work/living environment, work shift schedules assigned 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to support mission requirements when traveling internationally.
- Demonstrated experience using common hand and special tools/testers as required for aircraft maintenance.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of aircraft safety directives.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Demonstrated knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge using aircraft technical publications-read, interpret, follow and basic comprehension of schematic diagrams, drawings, and charts.
- Demonstrated experience using (input and extract data) maintenance database technology.
Licensing, Certification Requirements:
- Current FAA Airframe & Power plant Certificate
- Current valid State Driver’s License with ability to obtain and maintain a government flight line driver's license.
- Current valid US Passport with no travel restrictions
- Must be able to complete and pass required physical exam and CRC course prior to international deployments.
Preferred Experience
- Recent demonstrated experience with Gulfstream, Global Jet, or business jet experience on civilian and military platforms including Rolls Royce turbofan engine strongly preferred.
- Formal or Specialized Training/Equivalent on assigned aircraft and equipment
Physical Demands: This maintenance classification activity is usually accomplished in a flight line-like environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50lbs. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close and peripheral vision, and acceptable depth perception.
Work Environment: The diversity of working conditions range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards exist.
