Job Description:

 

The Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering will design complex Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system solutions that satisfy specific customer requirements. These systems  involve L3Harris and vendor equipment, and typically include IP networks, microwave links, wireless data, RF antenna subsystems, 911 dispatch and/or other custom designed subsystems. This position will also perform site visits and analyze existing customer technical assets.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Craft high quality proposal text and drawings that clearly and effectively describe the technical solutions being offered.
  • Participate in discussions and presentations with customers, consultants, vendors and other L3Harris personnel as necessary to advance projects.
  • Formally present technical solutions and product information to customers, professional organizations, and consultant groups for the designs developed through the proposal process.
  • Coordinate technical transition of design to implementation system engineer after contract is awarded.
  • Ability to travel 15%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 4 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 5+ years of technical experience in telecommunication systems design involving LMR communications systems (P25, Tetra, DMR, Microwave and LTE), Public safety grade mobile voice and data networks.

 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • A strong  knowledge of both public and private communications systems (e.g. APCO P25, DMR, Tetra, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in design of IP networks, RF antenna systems, two-way radio systems, microwave systems, wireless data systems, data networking, as well as system configuration is desired.
  • Complete knowledge of RF coverage predictions, including coverage analysis, frequency reuse, traffic/capacity modeling.
  • Experience presenting complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have demonstrated the capacity to effectively foster team building within and beyond his/her work group.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $106,500 -  $197,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $92,500 -  $171,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
