Job Description:

The Principal, BD (Business Development) will lead individual business development activities within the Electronic Warfare Division specifically supporting the Advanced EW Business Area of the Communications and Spectrum Dominance Segment.  The focus of this position is Advanced Electronic Warfare pursuits with a focus on expanding the business beyond those which have been traditionally served by this business area (i.e. Airborne EW) into new markets, customer communities, and operational domains (ex. Cyber).  This includes directing and leading customer interactions, capture management, strategy development, business development, market assessments, business case development, business capture, capture gating process, pipeline growth, business account management including S&M and B&P budgets, CRM management, and development of 1-yr, 3-yr and 5-yr business plans.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, refine and update business cases.
  • Manage capture gating process including chairing gate conferences for executive leadership.
  • Develop products and services capture plans, lead capture activities.
  • Develop capture win strategies.
  • Develop, maintain and leverage existing relationships with key customers, decision makers, and acquisition officials.
  • Lead, develop, and implement strategies for generating new customers, primarily in domestic electronic warfare markets.
  • Form relationships with new customers and industry partners, paving the way for L3Harris capability insertion in new markets
  • Develop and maintain competitive intelligence and competitive landscape understanding to inform business development and capture efforts.
  • Prepare and deliver written oral briefs to customers and senior executives.
  • Participate in IRAD process ensuring alignment of investment with business goals.
  • Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database for cross-segment pursuits.
  • Develop strategic plans to advance business area objectives and promote revenue and profitability.
  • Provide warfighter perspective and operational briefings from OA (Operational Analysis) and M&S (Modeling & Simulation) SME material.
  • Lead CONOPS development and briefings in support of programs.
  • Evaluate new technologies while staying current on industry trends through a warfighter perspective.
  • Provide warfighter perspective internally and externally to fulfill customer expectations, increase program success, capture new programs, and expand business pipeline.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel required: 30%
  • US security clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Existing DoD Top Secret clearance with current 5-year update
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS and SCI any additional clearances as required

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Marketing or related field of study and 12+ years of prior related experience, including 5+ years of aerospace subsystems business development experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
  • USAF, USN, or USMC Weapons School or Test Pilot School graduate
  • Former Senior Military Officer (05 or above) or civilian equivalent
  • Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development
  • Experience with classified (Special Access Programs and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information) EW applications, specifically focused outside the Airborne domain (ex. Land, Sub-Sea, Sea, and Space).
  • Experience with scientific research and development agencies within the DoD
  • Ability to generate and deliver articulate and persuasive briefings
  • Aptitude to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Prior leadership and mentoring experience
  • Experience in budget management
  • Experience growing business
  • Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
  • EW (Electronic Warfare) combat systems experience and mission planning expertise in the electromagnetic spectrum at the operational level.
  • Comfortable and skilled interacting with senior USG officials, foreign defense officials, and L3H executives

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey and the Greater D.C. area or NYC areas is $146,000 - $271,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and 
geographic location.
