Job Description:

L3Harris Fuzing and Ordnance Systems, located in Cincinnati, OH is the established leader in Fuze, Ignition Safety Device, and Height of Burst Sensor development and manufacturing for DoD weapon systems. We are seeking a Principal, Product Manager

that understands the Fuzing industry to aid in growing the business and executing our strategic goals. This position will be responsible for managing the cost and schedule requirements of a product line offering through all phases from proposal to distribution. Analyzes and designs technical product enhancements, integrating the work of research and development, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and service functions for all or part of a new or potential product offerings. Provides strategic technical consultation to field personnel and customers during the early life cycle of new product offerings. Provides product consultation to research and development in the design stage of product offerings. May plan, prepare, and present product introduction strategies. May participate in the marketing, forecasting and financial aspects of the product offering. Manages offering through each phase of the checkpoint process.

Essential Functions:

  • Align technology investments with warfighter priorities.
  • Drive AI/ML integration to production lines.
  • Deep understanding of product and customer base.
  • Manage Cost and Schedule requirements for FOS product line while enabling our Engineering leadership to focus on technology.
  • Align technology investments (IRAD pursuits) with Warfighter priorities.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance to internal and external customers during early life cycle of new product offerings.
  • Improve FOS’s ability to align and execute our plan for strategic growth.
  • Lead collaboration with Program Management, Business Development and Engineering with a focus on IRAD.
  • Enhance our Fuzing vision for short-term and long-term strategic goals.
  • Serve as the Business Manager for costs associated with our increasing IRAD and growth of our Fuzing portfolio.

Qualifications:

  • Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of product management. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. 
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in contributing to business growth by analyzing warfighter priorities and aligning technical investments.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience with product management or comparable experience in lead roles demonstrating strategic growth skills, preferably on DoD weapons or safety-critical product development contracts.
  • Must be able to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excels in aligning technology investments with warfighter priorities.
  • Deep understanding of product and customer base.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, MSProject).

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $143,000 - $240,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $124,000 - $208,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
