In the land domain, our T7 and T4 multi-mission robots deliver next-generation remote capabilities and uncompromised performance. We design and manufacture world-leading land force protection systems, cyber and electromagnetic activities (CEMA), electronic warfare (EW) and encryption capabilities. Our cyber capabilities provide an information advantage in the fields of kinetic conflict, cyber warfare, force protection and counterterrorism.
We are seeking mid-level to experienced Software Engineers with a passion for software engineering and a proven track record of technical excellence to design and develop innovative, cutting-edge systems. This role offers the opportunity to be a hands-on Software Engineer helping to create software solutions that prioritise performance, reliability, and scalability.
You will use your experience to contribute to our Information Resilience portfolio and although hybrid working may be available in the future, it is not guaranteed and due to the secure nature of the Information Resilience portfolio work, you will be based full-time onsite at our Tewkesbury facility.

The ability to achieve SC clearance is a minimum requirement of this role, and DV clearance may be required depending on the specific projects to which the successful applicant is assigned.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Applying your software skills as an individual contributor to help develop complex software systems;
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define functional and non-functional requirements for embedded and/or user interface software projects;
- Creation of low-level designs, implementation and test solutions, in line with the defined architecture;
- Supporting and promoting adherence to coding standards, best practices, planning documentation, procedures for software development and delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Providing guidance and mentorship to software engineers;
- Meeting cost and schedule targets while contributing to technical reviews, bids & proposals, budget & schedule discussions, customer engagement activities
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Proficiency in C++, specifically embedded software development using C++;
- Experience of other languages such as Python, C#, Rust, C;
- Experience of using version control systems (e.g. Git / GitLab or similar);
- Strong object-oriented design and programming skills (OOD, OOP);
- Familiarity with development methodologies (e.g. V-model, Waterfall, Agile);
- Proficiency with tools like Jira, Confluence, Mantis;
- A proven track record of delivering reliable, maintainable software across the lifecycle, including peer review;
- Strong communication, documentation and organisational skills;
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
