Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Supply Chain Professional with experience in managing day to day supply chain elements across multiple requirements and projects. Responsible for the cost and on time delivery of materials, supplier management, sourcing of new suppliers, supply chain risk reduction and maintenance of strategic pricing models; this person would need to be highly flexible and organised, handling multiple requirements in a short space of time.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, your primary role is to successfully execute on-time, on-cost & on-quality delivery of all required procurement activities that support our product portfolio offerings. The successful candidate will be proficient in providing key Supply Chain data and deliverables, using best practice in a complex environment, remaining outcome and customer focussed.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Day-to-day management of MRP driven demand with all related actions executed in a timely and professional manner – materials procured, delivered on-time, in full, on cost and on quality, at all times.
- Maintenance of strategic pricing models and leveraging supplier agreements to deliver favourable PPV through structured cost reduction initiatives.
- Support the preparation of quotations/tenders, analysis of supplier bids, contract negotiations, the award of contracts and Make / Buy decisions as required.
- Act as the initial point of contact for supplier issue resolution. Identify problems and initiate the corrective action required to eliminate programme and commercial risks.
- Support and execute PLM processes to manage change and minimise the risk and related cost of obsolescence.
- Measure and manage supply chain performance through use of effective KPI’s and associated procurement tools.
- Conduct NPI BoM analysis for lead-time and supply risks. Work with the team to mitigate the impact of long lead items and obsolescence at the design stage of product development.
- Work with the Continuous Improvement Team to help facilitate the application and sustainment of our Design for Supply Chain and Design for Manufacture requirements.
- Support the development and deployment of Procurement policies and processes, and ensure they are followed, with particular reference to ethical standards.
- Engage in supplier research, audits and supplier selection in close liaison with the Design Team and SQA Department
- Support and mentor more junior members of the team to maintain and build flexibility, versatility and resilience within the function longer term.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- 5 years plus in a similar role
- Professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, through CIPS or similar.
- Technical knowledge and aptitude in electronic/electro-mechanical commodity procurement techniques, including volume discounting and annual pricing agreements.
- Good with analytics. Proficient working knowledge of Excel is essential
- Experience and knowledge of Total Works Cost Pricing
- Solid, general understanding of engineering standards and technical requirements in support of supplier engagement and make / buy decision making.
- Good knowledge of ERP systems with a proven ability to handle high volume MRP activity
- Contract negotiation
