The Materials & Logistics Handler is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of materials across the manufacturing operation, including goods inwards, internal material flow, and outbound logistics. This role ensures the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of materials to support uninterrupted production, inventory accuracy, and efficient supply chain operations.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Receive and unload incoming raw materials, components, and deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation. Verify quantities and reporting any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged packaging.
- Accurately record goods received within ERP/WMS systems
- Ensure proper labelling, identification, and traceability of all materials
- Allocate and store materials in designated locations in line with company procedures
- Supply raw materials and components to production lines in accordance with production schedules
- Transport work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods between departments
- Ensure timely replenishment of materials to prevent production downtime
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records within company systems
- Conduct regular cycle counts and stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in stock levels
- Apply stock rotation principles (e.g., FIFO) to minimise waste and obsolescence
- Pick, pack, and prepare finished goods for dispatch in line with customer and operational requirements
- Coordinate outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including delivery notes and labels
- Liaise with transport providers and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient logistics operations
- Identify opportunities to improve material flow and reduce logistics inefficiencies
- Remove waste, packaging, and excess materials from production areas
- Maintain clean, organised, and safe warehouse and production support areas
- Ensure appropriate storage conditions and effective space utilisation
- Support general warehouse activities and continuous improvement initiatives
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, goods inwards, or logistics role
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP/WMS systems and inventory control processes desirable
- Experience in goods receiving, stock control, and dispatch operations desirable
- Forklift licence or certification is highly desirable

- Strong attention to detail, particularly in receiving, stock accuracy, and documentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills across departments
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to resolving issues
- Basic IT skills for system updates and data entry
