The Inventory and Logistics Lead is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of inventory, warehousing, and distribution operations for the facility. This role ensures accurate stock control, timely material flow, and effective coordination between production, procurement, and shipping teams.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records across raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure optimal inventory availability in line with production requirements
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and periodic full stock audits to ensure inventory integrity
  • Investigate, reconcile, and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve inventory control processes and procedures
  • Coordinate and oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations to ensure seamless material flow
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines to support operational continuity
  • Manage dispatch activities, including preparation and verification of shipping documentation
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with transport providers and suppliers
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce logistics costs
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and logistics personnel to achieve operational objectives
  • Allocate daily workloads and monitor team performance against defined KPIs
  • Foster a safe, organised, and high-performing working environment
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support employee development
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, and planning teams
  • Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules and business demands
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including lean methodologies
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain appropriate storage conditions and safe handling practices for all materials

What you’ll bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

  • Proven experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory management within a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems (ERP/WMS such as SAP, Oracle, etc) and stock control processes
  • Understanding of logistics operations, including shipping and transport coordination
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
