Job Description:

 

The candidate will contribute to the company’s success by performing a variety of engineering work in the development, improvement, and optimization of multiple processes and techniques utilized in the manufacture of Image Intensifier (I2) tubes. The work will include improving and optimizing current processes and materials management targeting increased new image intensifier capabilities, manufacturing yield, and/or reduced variance. Emphasis will be in improvement of component performance, implementing manufacturing standard work, best practices, and developing optimized process recipes and methodologies.


Success in this role will be measured by the timely process optimization and supporting implementation of new processes into production, resulting in cost-savings associated with reduced tool down time, improved process yield, and enhanced product performance.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Provide advanced sustaining engineering support for Image Intensifier manufacturing processes
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment-related issues in real time to minimize production impact
  • Develop, implement, and maintain process controls to improve repeatability and reduce variation
  • Analyze manufacturing, equipment, yield, and defect data to identify trends and drive corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement in throughput, cycle time, yield, and cost
  • Support and lead material, consumable, tool, and process qualifications
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to resolve complex manufacturing issues
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, work instructions, procedures, control plans, and technical reports
  • Mentor less experienced engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel as needed
  • Communicate technical issues, recommendations, and business impacts clearly to leadership and stakeholder

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience with vacuum deposition of inorganic and metallic films, glass processing, chemical etching, materials analysis/characterization, and equipment design
  • Experience using DFM, Six-Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Experience using DMAIC process and associated tools
  • Experience with using statistical software (e.g. Minitab)
  • Experience using SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
