Job Description:

  • Supervises a multi shift team of Quality Assurance inspectors & quality technicians providing day-to-day work direction for direct reports to ensure steady workflow, productivity and resolving operational decisions in support of business objectives.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Provides inputs on staffing, employe performance management, and tooling and equipment necessary to properly inspect electromechanical assemblies.
  • Responsible for the identification and documentation of quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Facilitates the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products.
  • Leads the preparation and execution of internal audits within established manufacturing and production controls to ensure compliance with internal and external specifications and standards.
  • Liaises with auditing groups and inspectors/technicians to develop formal written reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Identifies trends in discrepancies and collaborates with process owners on the refinement and optimization of business processes.
  • Oversees inspection department prioritization and coordination of a team of multi shift production inspectors & technicians. Reviews, approves, and controls work order flow tags.
  • Develops and continuously improves inspection techniques, tools, and supplemental inspection instructions in support of standards, methods and procedures.
  • Participates in corrective and preventative actions, including: customer escapes, process nonconformities, supplier corrective actions, customer and change control, and material review board meetings.
  • Oversee Resources to perform measurement systems analysis (TMV, GRR) to evaluate test and inspection equipment
  • Serve as Inspection continuity for Operations Teams during shifts in business needs.
  • Other Duties, as Assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
