Job Description:

Reporting to the Strategic Communications Sr. Specialist, the Space Systems Communications lead is responsible for strategic communication planning to drive positive engagements with target stakeholders to support the Space and Airborne Systems segment of L3Harris Technologies strategic growth objectives. The position will create and manage marketing and strategic communications content and collaborate across the marketing, creative, public relations and social media divisions of the team to deliver best-in-class public integrated communications approach to influence external stakeholders. You will leverage content creation skills to write, produce and manage compelling content that may include video, long- and short-form articles, web copy, sell sheets, advertisements, brochures and more. You will strategically execute, track and optimize content across digital and non-digital channels to grow engagement and audience reach in support of the company’s overall goals.

Must be a proactive, self-starter who has a clear understanding of developing and executing strategic communication campaigns/plans that will lead to creative external storytelling. You will work with business leaders to identify program milestones and business priorities and then create narratives to help spread the word on leading technologies L3Harris develops. This is a working lead role, that includes writing and coordinating communication products with the SAS business areas, higher headquarters, as well as customers. As part of the External Marketing and Communications team, you will work cross-functionally to ensure effective collaboration and alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.

Additionally, you will support the development and execution of special projects, which may include events, trade shows, advertising, thought leadership content, direct marketing, newsletters and other related initiatives.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with program management and business development to gain a clear understanding of business objectives, initiatives and priorities.
  • Develop strategic communication campaign plans and deliver content production across multiple channels in pursuit of objectives and priorities
  • Proactively bring ideas for content enhancements to drive engagement and relevancy
  • Collaborate with other members of the Marketing & Communications team to develop and maintain marketing collateral
  • Perform analytic reporting to measure effectiveness and engagement of marketing programs across content platforms
  • Work with cross-functional, cross-site teams with a goal to provide consistent, effective communication
  • Promote and advance marketing, advertising and communications standards
  • Ensure brand and quality of content is consistent across all channels and mediums
  • Ensure alignment of messaging with Public Relations and other related campaigns

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Government security clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 5+ years of marketing, communication and digital content experience within a corporate or agency environment
  • 4+ Years’ experience in marketing, communication and digital experience within a corporate or agency environment or prior Corporate/Government communications, PR agency or journalism experience 
  • 4+ Years’ experience in communicating highly technical concepts, products or services
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, various social media channels
  • Experience working within the aerospace and defense industry
  • Ability to create original and engaging content based off highly technical products and information
  • Aptitude for learning and understanding technical products and industry-related concepts quickly
  • Ability to effectively prioritize projects and manage expectations of deliverables while working independently

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $71,500- $132,500. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $82,500- $153,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
