Job Description:
The CHQ People Analytics team is seeking a data engineer that will be responsible for supporting the design and structure of our companies HR data warehouse. The individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining data pipelines, modeling and integration of disparate data sets, optimizing existing data structures for various use cases and ensuring adherence to data governance standards. The selected candidate will work closely with cross functional internal teams to understand organizational Business Intelligence and analytics data needs and use cases. The individual will be responsible for data warehouse governance practices including data management, data quality, data security, and provisioning access.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the development, design, and maintenance of Data Warehouses and transformational tools to enable actionable business insights through dashboards and reports.
- Design, build, and manage data pipelines, including data transformation mapping, data flow diagrams, and metadata collection, to ensure data accessibility, accuracy, and security.
- Document and maintain data models (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical) and metadata management solutions to facilitate efficient and effective use of data.
- Proactively analyze existing data structures and reporting to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements, ensuring compliance with architectural standards.
- Develop, validate, maintain, modify, and enhance data warehouse by adding/removing tables or columns, writing stored procedures, indexing, creating views and queries.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with IT and Data Analytics teams to ensure resource optimization, synchronization of initiatives, and to prevent duplication of work across the enterprise.
- Communicate regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
- Responsible for thorough project/tool documentation and maintaining an accurate and up to date data catalog by actively collaborating with business stakeholders.
- Support database maintenance and cleanup efforts.
- Provide extensive training to user communities and support to other analytics team members.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to executive, remote, and unfamiliar audiences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant data analytics experience Or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related data analytics experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related data analytics experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with Data Pipeline development or ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Python.
- 2-3 years of experience working with HR data
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 4+ years of experience working with or managing Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, SQL databases.
- 2+ years of experience with Power BI or similar data visualization software.
- Hands-on experience with the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, including data architecture, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Ability to handle complex problems and take initiative to research issues, engage in self-learning, problem solve, and implement solutions.
- Proven SQL skills for querying and optimizing datasets.
- Able to adapt to ever changing tech stacks and willingness to be flexible to alternate solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, commitment to quality, customer focus, adaptability, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to translate data-related requirements into innovative user solutions, drawing on prior education and experience, standard procedures, and basic analysis
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with minimal oversight
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to influence outcomes in an agile environment
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $114,000 - $212,000 The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $99,500 - $184,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
