Job Description:

Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our remote External Reporting and Technical Accounting team ahead of the IPO of our Missile Solutions business. This role is critical in supporting the preparation of external financial reports and ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and evaluation of technical accounting matters. The position offers exposure to technical accounting topics, cross-functional collaboration, and key corporate reporting processes—while contributing to process improvements, automation initiatives, and the timely, high-quality filing of SEC documents.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures for inclusion in Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and earnings releases
  • Prepare reporting schedules including cash flow statement, equity roll forward, earnings per share, and other key reconciliations and workpapers to support the quarterly close and SEC filings
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy
  • Research, interpret, and document complex accounting issues including lease accounting (ASC 842) and other technical matters, ensuring accurate application under U.S. GAAP
  • Support IPO readiness and compliance with new and existing SEC disclosure requirements, including preparation of technical accounting memos and strengthening SOX/ICFR controls
  • Coordinate with external auditors to provide documentation and support for SEC filings and ICFR
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Legal, HR, FP&A and Investor Relations to coordinate data collection and reporting
  • Collaborate with our Parent External Reporting team for external reporting requests
  • Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and other corporate reporting initiatives as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and functions (e.g., nested IFs, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables)     
  • Experience preparing or supporting SEC filings in a public company environment
  • Self-motivated and accountable, with ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setting      
  • Organized and effective at managing time and priorities; able to shift seamlessly between tasks in a deadline-driven setting 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail  
  • CPA license or actively pursuing certification

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $100,500 - $186,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $87,500 - $162,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
