Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Logistics Engineer Specialist to support the growing product portfolio in Sterling, VA location. Individual will provide program support in a full range of services including asset management, obsolescence mitigation, inspection of components, and support of training events.
Essential Functions:
Roles & Responsibilities will include though not limited to the following:
- Support training events and assists instructors as needed. Assists training developer with course development
- Builds, aligns, and qualifies precision opto-mechanical assemblies and systems. Disassemble and re-assembles subassemblies and systems down to piece-part level
- Provide supporting programs with a full range services to maximize operational life and mission continuity through cost-efficient analysis and management of end-of-life parts and parts life extension program
- Conduct asset visibility, and obsolescence mitigation for program system sustainment material
- Interface daily with IPTL, system engineers, system integrators, and technical trainers
- Continuously look for and implement mechanisms to reduce and streamline the logistics footprint within the Proprietary business segment
- Performed asset and equipment audits on customer and company owned property
- Identify, plan, resource, and acquire packaging/preservation, handling, storage and transportation (PHST) requirements to maximize availability and usability of the materiel to include support items whenever they are needed for training or mission
- Monitor and track the shipment of repairable products needing maintenance to and from customer sites, the depot, and possibly OEMs
- Provide PHS&T support of assigned systems and spare parts
- Apply knowledge of PHST policies and procedures to manage a system's life cycle support requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Active TS/SCI w/ CI Poly required
- Ability to lift 45 lbs
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Sunflower EAM Tool Experience
- Understanding of basic shop math such as ratios, graphs, algebra, and basic geometry
- Experience with Microsoft Office and computer proficient
- Experience with inventory/asset tracking tools
- Experience with PLM tools
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- U.S. Citizenship is required
