As a Quality Engineer you will play a critical role in helping us shape the future of space exploration. As part of our dedicated quality team, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the precision and safety of liquid rocket engine assembly and test, primarily supporting NASA’s Artemis program working with industry experts. Essential Functions:

  • Ability to understand Quality Mission Assurance, Quality Management Systems, Product Conformity, Configuration Management Principles, Control of Nonconforming Material, and Product Acceptance in relation to Engine Assembly and Testing operations
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand product requirements
  • Verify compliance to engineering drawings, specifications, or other product definitions in order to review, release, and approve work instructions/procedures
  • Ability to lead and perform root cause analyses to prevent recurrence of non-conformances or unwanted events with preventive and corrective actions
  • Ability to analyze and compile data using process control statistics to determine and improve process capability and product quality
  • Ability to develop and perform process audits
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement activities
  • Travel to Kennedy Space Center to support RS-25 engine integration activities required occasionally
  • 2nd shift coverage required occasionally
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S+1
  • Adhere to all safety requirements, processes, and procedures
  • Must work well independently and in a teaming environment
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, great attention to detail, and be able to develop and maintain great customer relationships
  • Must be familiar with MS Office and web databased applications
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical degree
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Familiarity with Product/Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Experience in aerospace or aviation manufacturing/maintenance or similar industry
  • Experience with production/manufacturing requirements of human-rated products (NASA Technical Requirements for Human-Rating or Airworthiness)
  • Familiarity with QMS requirements of AS9100 Aerospace Standard
