Job Description:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician C to join our team at Stennis Space Center, MS.

In this role, you will work alongside technicians and quality assurance personnel to support the assembly, testing, and delivery of large rocket engines and components, with primary responsibility for rocket engine test preparation, testing, and post-test processing. You will have the opportunity to develop specialized knowledge of engine and component function and assembly, as well as pre- and post-test processing, functional testing, and inspections. You will also work with staff in related disciplines, including contractors and customers, to help ensure the successful assembly, testing, and delivery of L3Harris products.

Essential Functions:

• Knowledge of mechanical systems, various measuring and testing devices, and experience using hand tools are essential.

• Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment such as high-pressure pneumatic, cryogenic, and hydraulic systems, as well as NDT equipment.
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes, hoists, and man lifts, as required.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%, as needed.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Ability to learn and follow detailed processes associated with the operation and maintenance of large-scale rocket engine test facilities.
• Ability to pass an eye exam and obtain required certifications, including confined space entry, respirator use, lockout/tagout, cryogenic safety, and process safety management.
• Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends, as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain NASA Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) security clearance.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or

• 2 years of post-secondary education/associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. 

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Aerospace background preferred, including A&P license, military equivalent proficiency, or experience in a similar high-precision industry.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to use specialized software associated with graphical user interfaces preferred.
