Job Description:
The Sales/Account Manager works with U.S. Marine Corps and Navy customer accounts to deliver product solutions, develop new business, and to maintain strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience with tactical communications technology working with USMC executive agencies including Marine Corps Systems Command Tactical Communications and Electromagnetic Warfare Systems, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, and Active Marine Corps Units in your assigned territory. This position reports directly to the Tactical Communications Business Sales Leader within the Communications Systems Business Segment
Essential Functions:
- Represents the company to the customer in all sales-oriented activities.
 - Responsible for identifying, qualifying, developing, and closing opportunities to sell company products, systems and/or services to customers in assigned accounts to meet annual operating objective
 - Manages account opportunities in customer relationship management (CRM) database and updates regularly to represent current state of opportunity pipeline.
 - Regularly travels to customer sites with the purpose of managing the relationship between the business and customers by establishing and cultivating strong relationships with key individuals.
 - Works with marketing, sales engineering groups, product line management, engineering, and contracts to implement sales strategies with respect to pricing, competition, delivery, and terms of sale.
 - Develops tactical and strategic direction for market opportunities and presents a compelling analysis for capturing new business.
 - Brings forward creative business cases to support new market entry or new product development
 - Provides regular updates to senior sales / operations staff concerning account management, issues, funding, order status, etc.
 - Eligible for US Secret Clearance
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 9 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
 
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Prior military service with strong USMC and/or USN experience preferred
 - Minimum Secret Security Clearance eligibility
 - Military tactical communications experience; strong experience in operating and maintaining tactical communications networks preferred. In lieu of operating tactical networks, a strong operational application of tactical communications is preferably in an operational environment.
 - Experience working within the USMC capability development or acquisitions organizations (i.e.) professional acquisition officer, requirements officer, Service Advocate/User Representative/Proponent, or selling to the USMC market.
 - Understanding of the requirements development process and the acquisition process
