L3Harris Technologies currently has an opening for a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer – Cyber Planner supporting a critical national security program.
The successful candidate will join a high-performing team of government and contractor professionals engaged in real-time space operations. This role plays a strategic and operational function in strengthening the organization’s cybersecurity posture by developing, integrating, and coordinating cyber plans across operational, defensive, and response efforts.
The Cyber Planner will be responsible for aligning cyber capabilities with mission objectives, enhancing operational readiness, and ensuring resilience against evolving cyber threats. This position requires direct interaction with customer leadership, multi-segment engineering teams, and mission stakeholders. The role involves contributing to cross-functional planning efforts to ensure cyber operations are effectively synchronized across all mission domains.
Candidates must hold an active TS//SCI clearance with CI Polygraph and have experience supporting mission-critical environments. A strong background in Cyber Security is essential, along with demonstrated knowledge of cyber planning, risk mitigation, and operational coordination. Familiarity with orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, or space-based systems is highly desirable, but not required.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity strategies, framework, and operational plans to support mission requirements.
- Align cyber operations with national defense objectives and organizational priorities.
- Integrate cyber capabilities across multi-domain operations (land, air, sea, space, cyber).
- Coordinate offensive and defensive cyber operations with mission stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and monitor cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Ensure cyber plans are complaint with legal, policy, and regulatory standards.
- Provide cyber threat intelligence briefings to leadership and planning teams.
- Maintain cyber security documentation, SOPs, and audit readiness materials.
- Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders and external partners for mission integration.
- Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of evolving mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or Information Systems
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly clearance required.
- CISSP Certification.
- Knowledge of joint planning processes and doctrine (e.g., JP5.0, JOPES, Annex C).
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to translate complex cyber risk into operational impacts and mitigation courses of action.
- Experience operating in a combatant command, service component, or interagency environment.
- Understanding of DoD Information Network (DODIN) operations and cyber threat intelligence integration.
- Working knowledge of security authorization processes and system ATO lifecycle.
- Strong and verbal communication skills for technical and executive-level audiences.
