Job Description:
The Maintenance Control Field Service Representative (FSR) provides onsite maintenance control, coordination, and technical support for L3Harris programs at this location, with weapon systems including Gulfstream G550 (GV-SP) aircraft, Textron Beechcraft B300 aircraft, airborne mission systems and ground control stations. This position serves as a central point of coordination for aircraft maintenance status, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft discrepancies, parts and material requirements, technical support, and return-to-service activities.
The Maintenance Control FSR works closely with customer maintenance personnel, aircrews, Field Service Representatives, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, Program Management, and OEM technical support to ensure maintenance requirements are properly identified, prioritized, documented, coordinated, and completed in support of aircraft availability and mission requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
- Maintains current status and visibility of assigned G550 aircraft, including aircraft availability, open discrepancies, maintenance actions, inspections, deferred items, parts requirements, and anticipated return-to-service dates.
- Coordinates daily scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities with customer personnel, aircraft maintenance FSRs, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Program Management.
- Reviews aircraft discrepancies and assists in establishing maintenance priorities based on airworthiness, mission requirements, personnel, parts, tooling, facilities, and available technical data.
- Coordinates troubleshooting activities and ensures appropriate technical resources are engaged for complex G550 mechanical, avionics, electrical, and propulsion discrepancies.
- Tracks maintenance actions from initial discrepancy through troubleshooting, corrective action, inspection, documentation, and return to service.
- Reviews applicable system approved technical data, which includes Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Engineering documents, and other approved technical publications to assist in determining maintenance requirements.
- Monitors aircraft inspection and maintenance requirements and assists in forecasting upcoming scheduled maintenance to minimize impact to aircraft availability.
- Coordinates maintenance requirements associated with aircraft flight schedules, launch/recovery operations, functional check flights, maintenance check flights, and aircraft movements.
- Conducts and/or participates in daily aircraft maintenance status meetings and provides accurate aircraft status to customer and program leadership.
- Develops and communicates aircraft maintenance status reports, including significant discrepancies, maintenance progress, parts constraints, technical assistance requirements, and estimated completion dates.
- Coordinates parts, consumables, tooling, special equipment, and GSE requirements with Logistics and maintenance personnel.
- Identifies potential Aircraft on Ground (AOG) requirements and assists in coordinating expedited material and technical support.
- Gathers information to facillitate technical assistance with OEMs, vendors, and program Engineering when required.
- Reviews maintenance documentation for completeness and ensures maintenance actions are properly captured in applicable aircraft records and maintenance tracking systems.
- Assists with the review and coordination of technical directives, service bulletins, engineering instructions, inspections, and other maintenance requirements applicable to assigned aircraft.
- Monitors recurring aircraft discrepancies and maintenance trends and elevates reliability or systemic issues to appropriate Engineering, Quality, and Program personnel.
- Supports coordination of aircraft entering or returning from major scheduled maintenance, depot maintenance, modification, or other off-site maintenance activities.
- Maintains effective turnover between shifts/personnel to ensure continuity of aircraft status and outstanding maintenance requirements.
- Ensures maintenance activities are coordinated in accordance with applicable company, customer, OEM, safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
- Provides technical guidance and assistance to maintenance personnel as required without circumventing established Quality or maintenance authorization requirements.
- Ability to understand aircraft mechanical, avionics/electrical, and propulsion discrepancies and effectively coordinate troubleshooting and corrective maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, fault-isolation procedures, maintenance planning documents, wiring diagrams, and other technical publications.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple aircraft maintenance priorities in a high-tempo operational environment.
- Ability to meet applicable requirements associated with an OCONUS assignment.
- Supports deployed/TDY aircraft operations and alternate locations when required.
- Performs other related duties as required to support contract and mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior aircraft maintenance experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior aircraft maintenance experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior aircraft maintenance experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience in maintenance control, production control, aircraft maintenance coordination, or equivalent flight-line maintenance operations.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active US Secret security clearance.
- Gulfstream G550/GV-SP maintenance experience.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
- Previous Maintenance Control, Production Control, Lead Mechanic, Maintenance Supervisor, or Field Service Representative (FSR) experience.
- Working knowledge of both B1 mechanical and B2 avionics/electrical maintenance functions.
- Rolls-Royce BR710 aircraft/engine maintenance experience.
- G550 PlaneView avionics familiarity.
- Experience coordinating AOG aircraft and OEM/vendor technical support.
- Experience forecasting scheduled inspections and coordinating aircraft through major maintenance events.
- Military, government, ISR, or special-mission aircraft maintenance experience.
- Experience supporting an international customer in an OCONUS environment.
- Experience working within an EMAR/Part-145 or equivalent controlled maintenance environment.
- Strong knowledge of scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear and accurate aircraft status to customer and program leadership.
- Experience with aircraft maintenance documentation and maintenance tracking systems.
