Job Description:
Performs onsite scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, servicing, and repair of Gulfstream G550 (GV-SP) aircraft supporting the JAMMS program. Performs both mechanical (Bffield1) and avionics/electrical (B2) maintenance functions to ensure assigned aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition and available to support mission requirements.
Provides hands-on troubleshooting and repair of aircraft mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems using approved Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical data. Works directly with customer maintenance personnel, aircrews, engineering, logistics, quality, and program personnel to identify discrepancies, determine corrective actions, and return aircraft to service.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and inspections on Gulfstream G550 (GV-SP) aircraft in accordance with approved OEM technical data and program requirements.
- Performs B1 mechanical maintenance functions, including troubleshooting, inspection, servicing, removal/installation, adjustment, and repair of airframe, flight controls, landing gear, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, environmental, and propulsion-related systems.
- Performs B2 avionics/electrical maintenance functions, including troubleshooting, fault isolation, removal/installation, testing, and operational checks of aircraft electrical, avionics, communication, navigation, flight guidance, indication, and associated systems.
- Troubleshoots Gulfstream G550 systems using applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Fault Isolation Manuals (FIM), Wiring Diagram Manuals (WDM), schematics, and other approved technical data.
- Performs troubleshooting and maintenance of Rolls-Royce BR710 engine and associated aircraft systems within authorized maintenance scope.
- Uses appropriate electrical and avionics test equipment to perform continuity, voltage, resistance, fault-isolation, and system operational checks.
- Performs aircraft avionics/software and database loading when required and authorized by applicable technical procedures.
- Determines corrective action for discrepancies affecting aircraft airworthiness and mission capability.
- Discusses discrepancies with aircrews to obtain adequate troubleshooting information and flight data.
- Performs aircraft launch, recovery, servicing, and ground-support activities as required.
- Reviews and accurately completes aircraft maintenance records, discrepancy documentation, and historical records.
- Assists in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts, components, consumables, tooling, and support equipment.
- Maintains accountability and serviceability of company and customer tools, special tools, test equipment, and GSE.
- Maintains good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and compliance with applicable safety and environmental requirements.
- Assists in training and providing technical guidance to assigned and customer maintenance personnel as required.
- Coordinates complex aircraft discrepancies with engineering, OEM technical support, quality, logistics, and program management when required.
- Recommends maintenance or procedural improvements that enhance aircraft reliability, maintainability, and mission availability.
- Complies with applicable company, customer, security, COMSEC, safety, quality, and maintenance policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply aircraft maintenance manuals, fault-isolation procedures, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other technical data.
- Willingness and ability to work alternate shifts, extended hours, weekends, holidays, and deployed/TDY operations when required to support mission requirements.
- Ability to meet applicable requirements associated with an OCONUS assignment.
- Performs other related duties as required to support contract and mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior aircraft maintenance experience; Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of prior aircraft maintenance experience; or, in lieu of a degree, minimum 8 years of prior aircraft maintenance experience.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
- Minimum 2 years aircraft maintenance experience involving both mechanical and avionics/electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active US Secret security clearance.
- Gulfstream G550/GV-SP maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated experience performing both B1 and B2-type maintenance functions on Gulfstream aircraft.
- Gulfstream G550 factory or equivalent maintenance training.
- Rolls-Royce BR710 maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
- G550 PlaneView avionics/electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Previous FSR or customer-facing aircraft maintenance experience.
- Experience supporting military, government, ISR, or special-mission aircraft.
- Experience working within an EMAR/Part-145 or equivalent controlled maintenance environment.
