Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist, Technical Support Engineer to join our team as a Wideband Watch Office (WBWO) Analyst. The Wideband Watch Office provides oversight and monitoring of the Wideband SATCOM Operations and Management System Network (WSOMSNet) and engages the Wideband SATCOM Operations Centers (WSOCs) to maintain situational awareness of Wideband MILSATCOM’s space-based assets and ground control infrastructure status. The WBWO Analyst must be proficient in the duties of the Transmission Controller position at the WSOCs. The WBWO Analyst reports operational and maintenance issues to the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC). Work schedules are directed by the L3Harris Lead to ensure 24/7/365 coverage.
Essential Functions:
• The WBWO Analyst utilizes the following primary tools to perform oversight and monitoring tasks: DOSS – DSCS Operational Support System; CNPS – Common Network Planning Software; WRMS – Wideband Remote Monitoring Sensor; and GTC3S – Global Terrestrial Critical Control Circuit Subsystem
• Provides Wideband support as it relates to the duties of the Consolidated-Satellite Systems Expert (C-SSE)
• Monitors and maintains situational awareness of Wideband MILSATCOM’s space-based assets and ground control infrastructure status, including all activities related to the WSOCs and RSSCs
• Reviews proposed satellite command plans and provides troubleshooting assistance to the WSOCs, RSSCs, and SATCOM terminals
• Maintains current knowledge of all Transmission Controller Operating Instructions contained in the Wideband Controllers Guide (WCG) and follows those instructions
• Reviews the Control Change Queue in CNPS and documents changes to the CNPS plan
• Verifies the performance of transmission links for all assigned satellites by using the WRMS
• Analyzes appropriate 8-Hour Reports to verify transmission and terminal performance and status
• Engages with the WSOCs to perform adjustments necessary to achieve established operating parameters
• Assists any WSOC in identifying, troubleshooting, and eliminating anomalous transmission and payload conditions
• Provides assistance with development and review of policy and procedural documents
• Reports operational and maintenance issues to CSpOC, as required
• Performs all required reporting to the appropriate agencies
• Completes and submits DORs in accordance with applicable guidance
• Coordinates enterprise terminal ASIs and emergency outages with appropriate agencies
• Reviews relevant DIMS reports daily
• Reviews alarms for the past 24 hours in WRMS daily
• Completes and submits AARs in accordance with applicable guidance
• Maintains situational awareness of the WSOMS network using SolarWinds
• Interfaces with all SMEs and program assets to assist with fault isolation
• Assists with primary troubleshooting and anomaly resolution for all mission systems within the WSOC’s shift work, providing 24/7/365 coverage
• Promotes a culture of safety in all aspects of the job
• Establishes and maintains up-to-date cybersecurity configurations based on DISA STIGs and IAVM Notices
Qualifications:
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
• Minimum of 5 years of Wideband MILSATCOM (WGS and/or DSCS) experience working as a planner, manager, and/or controller
• Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Additional Skills:
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, CND)
• Experience in the use of Information Technology (IT) tools
• Ability to plan, implement, verify, and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks
• Strong enterprise network troubleshooting skills (Cisco IOS, IP routing, EIGRP)
• Strong skill set with Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated ability to work and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment and support critical operations during standard and non-standard working hours
• Experience implementing patches, scanning, remediating findings, and auditing; working knowledge of RMF and cybersecurity requirements
• Experience supporting DoD/government customers
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state is $73,000-$135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
