Job Description:

The Drafter will support both mechanical and electrical needs regarding manufacturing drawings. The individual will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining detailed drawings and schematics using CAD tools. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of IEEE standards for electrical symbols and schematic diagrams, as well as proficiency in ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning disciplines. Experience in ECAD Librarian duties is a plus.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Create and update manufacturing drawings for mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ensure compliance with IEEE standards for electrical symbols and schematic diagrams.
  • Apply ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning disciplines for accurate and precise technical drawings.
  • Utilize CAD tools such as AutoCAD, BluePrint, and SolidWorks for drafting tasks.
  • Support ECAD Librarian duties, including maintaining component libraries in tools such as OrCAD, PADS, and Expedition.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings.
  • Review and verify drawings for adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Assist in the documentation and revision control of technical drawings and schematics.
  • Provide support for component selection and associated documentation.

 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of the PCB design elements: schematic, BOM, mechanical, fabrication, assembly, components, and all related files and documentation.
  • Minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Proficient in the use of CAD tools such as AutoCAD, BluePrint, and SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of IEEE standards for electrical symbols and schematic diagrams.
  • Knowledge and application of ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning disciplines.
  • Experience with ECAD tools such as OrCAD, PADS, and Expedition is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.
