Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support Relay Next, a complex communications program with multiple enclaves that process and route data from line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) systems. The successful candidate will provide technical and programmatic leadership across cross-functional engineering teams, helping align customer requirements, technical execution, cost, schedule, risk, and delivery commitments. This position is well suited to an engineer with Control Account Manager (CAM), earned value management, and defense-program execution experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead integrated project-engineering activities for Relay Next across multiple communications and data-processing enclaves.
- Partner with systems, software, hardware, integration and test, supply chain, and program management teams to translate requirements into executable technical plans.
- Serve in, or support, a Control Account Manager (CAM) role; manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and performance within assigned control accounts.
- Develop and maintain program plans, integrated schedules, estimates, status, and technical performance measures; identify and drive mitigation of cost and schedule risks.
- Support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) activities, including forecasting, variance analysis, corrective actions, and management reporting.
- Coordinate technical reviews, qualification and verification activities, configuration-change decisions, and program milestone events.
- Communicate clear, timely program status and recommendations to internal leadership, customers, suppliers, and partner organizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 12 years of prior related experience.
- Must have an active Top Secret clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM), including EVMS, cost forecasting, schedule management, and risk management.
- Experience supporting communications, data transport, networked systems, or integrated LOS/BLOS system architectures.
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams and coordinating product integration, qualification, verification, or test activities.
- Experience with integrated master schedules and program tools such as Primavera P6, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
- Strong customer communication, technical-review, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills in a fast-paced defense environment.
