Job Description:

As a Sr. Mechanical Component Engineer, you will be tasked with supporting development of the next generation networking technologies for mobile ad-hoc wireless communications systems.  Specifically we are seeking engineers with interest in mechanical part research, selection, sourcing, and documentation.

Essential Functions:

• Research, selection and documentation of mechanical parts like: machined parts & assemblies, cases, computer racks, electronic chassis, gaskets, motors, gears, fans, environmental control units, test equipment, tools, trailers, etc.
• Work with CAD tools and create drawings and figures.
• Work within PLM tool and manage large quantities of diverse types of mechanical parts and assemblies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.  
• Applicants must be self-motivated and willing to work within company defined processes.
• Good written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with mechanical CAD tools (experience with NX is a plus).
• Familiarity with reading and creating mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Familiarity with tolerances and manufacturing terminology and processes.
• Ability to obtain security clearance (US Citizenship, clear criminal background)
• Ability to travel 10%.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM tool.
• Experience with NX CAD tool.
• Component Engineering experience.
