The Broadband Communications Systems sector in Salt Lake City, UT  looking for  an Operations Supervisor to join our team . The Operations Sr. Supervisor supervises individual(s) typically consisting of support level employees as well as professional employees.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage a team of supervisors and frontline employees to achieve operational excellence and meet organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency within the department.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and ISO 9001 quality management standards.
  • Oversee the execution of daily operations, including engineering performance, identifying trends, resource allocation, workflow management, and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and support company-wide projects.
  • Prepare and present reports on operational performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and employee engagement.
  • Handle escalated issues and conflicts, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Supervise and guide the testing of hardware components and systems, ensuring that all products meet quality and performance standards.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Understands supervisory approaches and has practical knowledge of Operations (Manufacturing/Test/Engineering).

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree with a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, practices, and standards.
  • Experience with testing hardware components and systems, including developing and implementing testing protocols.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applicable test engineering or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of driving team performance and achieving operational goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale engineering projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success in driving cultural change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
